Dr. Richard Polisner is a Florida Supreme Court certified circuit civil and family mediator. He has been mediating since 2012, focusing on disputes with a medical component such as personal injury, business disputes involving doctors, medicalnegligence or family mediations.

Richard is comfortable conducting mediations in person or through virtual conferences. He has served on the Board of the prestigious Florida Academy of Professional Mediators since 2019. When not involved in the mediation process you might find him on the tennis court, golf course or traveling to visit kids and grandkids. Dr. Polisner has volunteered as a high school varsity basketball coach for the past 9 years.

His mediation experience led him to become Chief Operating Officer from 2014-2020 for a Dutch medical device company, successfully mediating several legal disputes and arbitration for the company. With the disputes settled the company was able to complete the development of an important objective anesthesia monitor and achieve CE Mark and FDA approval for it. He also then negotiated the merger of his company with a public Swedish medical device company.

Richard has valuable experiences that he brings to the mediation process. His medical practice was as a board-certified Foot and Ankle Surgeon from 1971-2010. Because of the medical malpractice insurance problem in the ‘80s, he was instrumental in starting 3 offshore podiatric malpractice companies and as such lectured frequently on risk management to doctors while reviewing over 500 malpractice cases for both plaintiffs and defendants (testifying in several). During this period he was the consultant podiatrist for the Chicago White Sox (he is currently a LP in the CWS.), the ATP World Tour, USPTR, Van’s shoes and Florsheim. As CEO of a respected musculoskeletal medical practice in the late 1990’s he grew the group from one to seven offices with 60 employees in N. Florida. He also held a patent for a puncture-resistant insole. From 1980-1990 Richardwas on the Board of the First National Bank of Lincolnshire, held a Series 7 Security License, served on the Illinois Podiatry Licensing Board, and more recently on the Board of his HOA. He holds a private pilot license and has instrument and multi-engine ratings.

Much of Richard’s motivation for becoming a mediator once achieving the Masters of Health Law (MJ) degree from Loyola Law School was grounded in his own personal life which includes first-hand experience in multiple marriages and his own divorce by mediation. He brings his knowledge of how disputes can be successfully and amicably mediated to the mediation process. Richard is a champion of securing children’s rights while maintaining healthy ex-spouse relationships. He considers his greatest accomplishment to be that his four children are successful, happy, well adjusted (Two lawyers), and have 10 wonderful grandchildren among them. His children and grandchildren appreciate his love and devotion as a strong family man.
