Awards & Achievements

Jalicha Persad is an associate at The Private Corporate Counsel Virgin Islands Office. Attorney Persad devotes her career to working for her fellow Virgin Islanders. Her practice includes civil litigation, and government contracts law.

Attorney Persad attended undergraduate school at Emory University, in Atlanta, Georgia, where she majored in economics. During her undergraduate years, she interned the Private Corporate Counsel Orlando Office working in its bankruptcy department helping consumers, homeowners, and families after the recession.

After college, Attorney Persad worked in a boutique personal injury litigation firm in Atlanta.  At this civil litigation firm, she worked with attorneys and helped obtain million-dollar verdicts for those personally injured by big corporations.

Attorney Persad attended law school at the George Washington University Law School in Washington, D.C., where she obtained her Juris Doctorate. Here, at the top government contracts law school in the nation, Attorney Persad developed an unparalleled interest in government contracts law, specifically bid protests and false claims acts. During the summer breaks, she had the opportunity to clerk with Judges in the Virgin Islands Federal Court and the Superior Court of the Virgin Islands, and during the last year of law school.

Attorney Persad had the opportunity to work with the Virgin Islands Delegate to Congress as a speechwriter and researcher. After Hurricane Irma and Hurricane Maria ravaged the Virgin Islands in 2017, Attorney Persad assisted the Virgin Islands delegate to congress in obtaining federal monies to rebuild the Virgin Islands.

After graduating from the George Washington University Law School, Attorney Persad returned to the Virgin Islands to clerk for the Honorable Robert A. Molloy in the Virgin Islands Superior Court’s newly created Complex Litigation Division, before Judge Molloy was elevated to the Federal Bench in 2020. While working with Judge Molloy, Attorney Persad had the opportunity to work on some of the most complex civil litigation cases in the Virgin Islands.

Attorney Persad works hand in hand with Attorney Tee Persad who has clerked for the then Territorial Court of the Virgin Islands and has been a member of the Virgin Islands Bar for over 20 years. As part of Private Corporate Counsel's Virgin Islands’ legal team, she will join Private Corporate Counsel in representing Virgin Islanders in complex matters that require the time, knowledge, resources, and skills of a team approach.
